20 Year Club

The Port Washington, Wisconsin Police Department has a tradition of hiring the best of the best at all entry level positions. Several of these employees have served 20 or more years. The members of our 20 Year Club clearly reflects those that have served our community with commitment, honor and character for 20 or more years of service.

	Chief Edward A. Rudolph

	Ed and his wife Karen reside in Port Washington.

	Sgt. Don Laubenstein
	32 years 03-23-64 to 06-01-96
	Promoted to rank of Sergeant on 10-16-69
	Since retirement, Don has worked part-time for Columbia St. Mary's Hospital teaching C.P.R., A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillation), First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens through the American Heart Association. He teaches mainly businesses, industry, schools, churches and emergency personnel. Don and his wife Ginny reside in Port Washington.

	Ron is very active in the Civil Air Patrol where he serves as a Major. Ron lives in Port Washington.

	Sgt. Donald Theisen

	Promoted to rank of Sergeant on 10-16-69
	Don and his wife Nancy are enjoying their retirement. They spend the winter months in Green Valley, Arizona where they have a home on a golf course and have met a lot of great people. Don and Nancy enjoy traveling and golfing and returning to Wisconsin when it warms up.

	Dispatcher Margaret Prom

	Margaret and her husband Mel reside in Port Washington and enjoy spending time with their family. Margaret works part-time as the Secretary to the Fire Chief at the Port Washington Fire Department.

	Dispatcher Bonnie Meyer

	Bonnie started her own web and graphic design business. She currently resides in Port Washington with her husband Steve.

	Sgt. Richard Maher

	Promoted to rank of Sergeant in 1980
	Dick and his wife Donna reside in Grafton. Dick works for TransPort Taxi as a dispatcher. Dick and Donna are enjoying time with their family and being grandparents.

	Officer Allen Esselmann

	Appointed School Resource Officer in 1996
	Al and his wife, Peggy Bannon, spent their retirement living between Port Washington and Florida until Peggy's death in 2006. Al continues to live in Port Washington and Florida, enjoys golfing and works part-time at a golf course.

	Peggy and her husband, Al Esselmann, spent their retirement living between Port Washington and Florida. After retirement, Peggy enjoyed time with her family and traveling. Sadly, Peg passed away in May of 2006.
